The Principal Buyer – Commodity Freight will primarily perform purchasing and freight management for locations in North America (MX-US-CA). The position will also serve as an extended arm for global contracts supporting ocean and airfreight topics for the region. Key purpose to enable cost efficient freight options covering business needs.

Your responsibilities as a Principal Buyer Commodity Freight:

• Manage carrier portfolio and develop strategic partners
• Drive freight tenders to achieve commercial agreements with accountable suppliers
• Support of network projects and global freight related initiatives
• Prepare, negotiate, document, storage and maintenance of contracts and ratesheets
• Monitor compliance to corporate standards

Your profile as Principal Buyer Commodity Freight:

• Degree in Engineering, Program Management, Materials/Logistics or Supply Chain preferred.
• +5 years of experience in purchasing/project mgmt. role, with a track record in negotiation, decision-making, and working within a matrix team
• Proficient in MS Office, esp. Excel and PowerPoint.  SAP experience preferred.
• Fluent in English
• Good written, communication, organizational and detail-orientated skills, as part of a global cross-functional matrix team.
