Job Description
- Simulation Engineer for Passive Safety System is responsible for modeling and simulation of passive safety systems like airbags, seatbelts in a virtual environment of the car structure in order to optimize it via minimizing injury of occupants in a crash scenario.
Major Responsibilities:
- Performs simulations according to consumer and/or homologation standards (ECE R94, FMVSS 208, EuroNCAP, USNCAP, Trias, etc.) using commercial FEA codes.
- Built-up airbag and seat belt FEA models and correlate with tests.
- Integrate airbag and seatbelt FEA models and dummy positioning in sled and/or crash test virtual environments.
- Optimize restraint safety systems to conform to consumer and homologation regulations.
- Collaborate with the project development team, presenting FEA results and recommending design changes.
- Participate in customer meetings (OEMs).
Profile:
- M. Sc./PhD degree in Mechanics or Biomechanics or Physics or Aerospace or Civil Engineering, or equivalent majors.
- Very good background in continuum mechanics, and dynamics.
- Strong background in the kinematics and dynamics of MBS and/or FEA.
- Analytic mind, accurate, systematic and self-reliance.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Fluent in Japanese and English.
- Optional skill: Experience in one of commercial FEA Codes (Ansys, Abaqus, LsDyna, PamCrash, Madymo).
