Research & Development Engineer

We are looking for a new colleague in the Corporate Research and Development Department at our location in Japan.

 

Your tasks

  • Suspension Damper Tuning at Japanese OEMs’ proving grounds or other.
  • To prepare and arrange schedule for damper tuning work, prototype build and any other preparation as tasks of vehicle testing work with coordinating together with ZF overseas sites and customers.
  • To work with engineers at ZF overseas sites to study damper performance to satisfy customer requirement through actual testing to obtain agreement with customer eventually. .
  • With understanding damper structure, to build and test prototype dampers for ZF internal and/or customer testing.
  • Laboratory management and tuning truck management work associated with damper tuning

 

Your profile: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Science and Engineering or above
  • Over 3 years of experience in vehicle testing, parts evaluation and development departments at  vehicle manufacturers or component parts manufacturers. Damper tuning work experience is a plus evaluated.
  • Knowledge required for OEM business and its development process. Technical knowledge on Damper.
  • Accountability, Passion, Diversity, Empowerment, Anticipation / Ambiguity resistance / Microsoft Office & Teams / a medium-sized limited release license (preferred)
  • Domestic business travel on a weekly basis, overseas business trips, and long-term overseas stays (about 3 months) for training.
  • Fluency in both Japanese and English
