Finance Controller

About the Team:

This role is responsible for leading finance and controlling activities at the Japan site.
Working closely with Engineering, Project Office, and Division Finance, the Site Controller ensures accurate financial reporting, effective cost control, and compliance with global and local requirements.
The position plays a key role in supporting business decisions and operational excellence.

What you can look forward to as Site Controller:

• Lead month-end and year-end closing activities in accordance with IFRS and Japan GAAP
• Manage daily financial operations including AP, AR, banking activities, and non-standard journal entries
• Prepare and analyze actual vs. forecast variances, sales flash, and financial performance reports
• Coordinate monthly forecasts and lead the annual operating plan including CAPEX and balance sheet
• Design, implement, and improve SAP-based finance and related business processes
• Lead statutory audits, tax filings, transfer pricing, and other regulatory requirements under Japanese law
• Control OPEX and CAPEX spending and provide early warnings on project overruns
• Report financial results and forecasts to Division Finance Director and local management

Your Profile as Site Controller:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• 5–10 years of professional experience in accounting and/or controlling
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, Japan GAAP, and Japanese tax requirements
• Hands-on experience with SAP or equivalent ERP and controlling systems
• Fluent Japanese (reading, writing, speaking) and business-level English
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
