Commodity Buyer Passives

About the Team:

You will join the global Commodity Purchasing team responsible for Passive Components. The team consists of purchasing professionals located across globes, working in a highly independent and collaborative environment. This role serves as the local representative for Passive Components purchasing in Japan and plays a key role in strengthening supplier relationships. The position is critical to ensuring supply continuity, strategic sourcing, and commercial competitiveness for ZF's global business.

What you can look forward to as Commodity Buyer Passives:

• Lead the global commodity purchasing strategy for Resistors and support the development of the overall Passive Components sourcing strategy.
• Manage sourcing activities for Resistors and other Passive Components to ensure cost competitiveness, supply security, and business continuity.
• Take ownership of supplier selection, supplier development, and supplier performance management.
• Initiate, negotiate, and manage supplier contracts, including commercial terms and conditions, logistics agreements, consignment models, and quality directives.
• Perform purchasing administration activities, including purchase order management and supplier database maintenance.
• Provide daily commercial and supplier-related support to business units and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Act as the local representative for Passive Commodity Purchasing in Japan and maintain strong relationships with key Japanese suppliers.
• Lead and support escalation activities with supplier management regarding pricing, capacity allocation, delivery performance, and supply issues.

Your Profile as Commodity Buyer Passives:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
• 5-8 years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, or commodity management, ideally within the automotive industry.
• Experience in the electronics industry with strong knowledge of Passive Components, especially Resistors.
• Proven track record in supplier negotiations, contract management, and strategic sourcing.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills in an international environment.
• High degree of self-motivation and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Business fluent English and Japanese communication skills.
