Job Description

Job Title: Customer Liaison

General Summary
The Customer Liaison is responsible for representing WAP at a customer manufacturing facility by inspecting and auditing parts used on the production line to ensure accuracy, completeness, and full compliance with customer requirements. This role serves as the primary communication link between the customer plant and WAP, ensuring clear, concise, and timely information flow. Working under the general direction of the Operations Manager and/or Engineering Manager, the Customer Liaison supports plant management in maintaining quality standards, addressing concerns, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the first point of contact for quality issues identified by WAP at the customer facility

Inspect and audit parts to confirm compliance with customer specifications and requirements

Maintain up-to-date contact lists for key WAP and ZF personnel

Maintain daily communication with both the customer plant and ZF plant

Demonstrate strong knowledge of ZF processes, value streams, and installation procedures

Understand upstream and downstream processes that impact ZF modules

Implement containment actions and assist in identifying root causes of quality defects

Proactively support and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Attend customer and internal meetings as required

Build, maintain, and foster strong working relationships with customer contacts

Prepare and distribute daily reports to key ZF personnel

Follow up on knock-offs, expedites, and quality-related action items

Minimum Educational Requirements

Grade 12 Technical Diploma or equivalent

Additional coursework in Statistical Quality Control and Management is considered an asset

Job Requirements and Skills

Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills

Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations with a strong sense of urgency

High energy level, maturity, and strong personal drive

Demonstrated integrity, motivation, enthusiasm, and organizational skills

Strong customer service orientation with a focus on exceeding customer expectations

Ability to work various shifts and overtime as required

Strong time management skills with exceptional attention to detail and sound judgment

Proficient computer skills, including spreadsheets, databases, and word processing

Strong mathematical and analytical skills to track data, analyze trends, and solve problems

Proven ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
