Job Description

About the team:

The manufacturing team is part of ZF's Chassis Modules in Windsor, ON and focuses on the production of advanced axle systems. The team is continuously working with innovative technology and works cross functionally with other teams and departments within ZF.

 

What you can look forward to as a Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Coordination operations design, launching and commissioning new products, with a complete collaboration with functions and operations (Quality, Logistics, Production, and new technology)
  • Perform as liaison with customer, working with interpretation and development of new solutions.
  • Securing the production of pre-series and sample parts in the start-up phase and industrialization process
  • Ensuring the operational readiness of the production for pre-series up to the SOP analogous to the project planning
  • Development of vendors and contractors, supervision in field, task list and tracking tools elaboration, prioritization is critical and resources management.
  • Implementation of core tools and PM (Project Management Institute) strategies, continuous improvement tools.

 

Your profile as a Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Completed technical studies or 3-year subject-specific vocational training plus 2-year specialist training as a state-certified technician or as a REFA technician or master craftsman (m/f/d)
  • Technical skills required to assess programing and line infra structure, IT, PLC and electrical work (theory and hands on)
  • Professional experience in project management with good technical and commercial understanding. Professional experience in the field of work preparation and/or assembly/automation technology required
  • Very good understanding of organizational and technical relationships within a manufacturing company, local and international
  • Analytical, systematic way of working. High resilience, motivation and willingness to make decisions as well as independent and pragmatic action
  • Excellent communication and assertiveness, customer communication is critical
