About the Team

The manufacturing team is part of ZF's Chassis Modules in Windsor, ON and focuses on the production of advanced axle systems. The team is continuously working with innovative technology and works cross functionally with other teams and departments within ZF.

What you can look forward to as a Manufacturing Engineer II

·       Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, design layout of equipment, workspace and the complete workflow.

·       Design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency according to ZFPS principles. 

·       Determine product specifications for the purchase of equipment, materials or parts, according to specifications and quality standards.

·       Oversee and steer equipment suppliers over the project life-cycle. Lead projects for optimizing existing production processes & layouts and new programs using APQP and Lean principles to meet timing, budget and performance.

·       Implement the assembly equipment from delivery to operation start-up, including the development of appropriate training plans, and perform acceptance evaluation. 

·       Calculate cycle times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions. Confer with management, design and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.

Your Profile as a Manufacturing Engineer II

·       Min. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering

·       Min. 4 years of manufacturing process planning and hands-on experience

·       Proficient computer skills (Microsoft, CAD)

·       Ability to make sound decisions in a timely manner

·       Excellent communication capabilities

·       Good time management and prioritizing skills

·       Working knowledge of statistical methods and SPC charts
