Position Overview:

Actively engaged in generating innovation through design and development of industry leading hardware solutions for EPS. The candidate will interact in a diverse environment that fosters collaboration, embraces challenge, and celebrates success. Working as a member of a highly focused team.


Responsibilities: 

  • Lead/support the design, development, and analysis of hardware schematics, BOMs & layouts of EPS module.
  • Deliver hardware to vehicle applications.
  • Attend and lead customer presentations, design, and technical reviews.
  • Utilize engineering disciplines including Electrical Engineering Process Management, Six Sigma, DFMEA, DFM/DFA, WCA, to develop robust design solutions.
  • Understand and demonstrate a working knowledge of product designs, components and process technologies fundamental to advanced vision systems.
  • Generate concise and effective analyses, reports and presentations for both internal and customer focused discussions and reviews.
  • Develop system/component test plans and processes.
  • Verify HW design against requirements.
  • Support ECU testing in US (EMC and non-EMC) and coordinate testing globally (EU and Asia). Coordinate customer vehicle builds/demos and evaluation trips.
  • Generate and oversee product DFMEA, DVP&R, and product specification. Act as point of contact for product engineering activities for specific application.
  • Coordinate engineering tasks and deliverables, create project work plan, track status of engineering changes, and resolve product technical issues.
  • Prepare project work plan and lead all responsible parties to meet milestones and deliverables, maintain and communicate engineering timing, and escalate and track high risk issues.
  • Support key stakeholder meetings, technical reviews, and vehicle evaluations. Provide support and advice to other engineers on technical applications and solutions.
  • Gather technical information to provide support and resolution on technical issues, including warranty claims, validation issues, and vehicle test issues.
  • Lead/support supplier discussions.
  • Develop test instrumentation and/or support hardware.
  • Interface controls document creation.
  • Understand automotive customer requirements, project milestones, technology relevance and capability.
  • Generate project timelines and execute plan to established milestones.
  • Understand system level requirements driving cost capable component level designs.
  • Component/System validation test definition and support.
  • Gather technical information to provide support and resolution on technical issues, including warranty claims, validation issues, and vehicle test issues.


Qualifications

  • 7+ years of electrical engineering and design experience.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of design tools and methods.
  • Knowledge of packaging electronics and ECUs.
  • 2+ of experience with PSPICE/LTSPICE, DOORS, and Mentor Graphics
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Microprocessor, Power Supply, experience required. 
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Experience/knowledge of optical systems is desired.
  • Ability to communicate with and understand the needs of the cross-functional teams
  • Microprocessor, Power Supply, experience required. 
  • Experience generating and interpreting worst case analysis (WCA), and DFMEA’s.
  • Capability to use lab tools, equipment, and techniques to verify circuit operation.
