About the Team: As a member of the R-Division Dynamic Labs Test group, you will be joining a team of technicians and test engineers supporting the application and core engineering groups. You will work closely with dedicated technicians, engineers, and management to deliver high quality testing and technical reports. The Dynamic Labs Test group is at the forefront of product development and plays a critical role in overall vehicle safety.

 

What you can look forward to as a Lead Test Technician-Instrumentation: 

  • Responsible for leading and conducting the Servo/Bungee Sled tests, OOP tests, Linear Impact tests, and Static deployment of restraint products (airbags, retractors, and/or buckles). 
  • Train the Technicians and ensure correct practices and safety. 
  • Coordinate the pre and post-test technical documentation. 
  • Prepare and modify test parts and fixtures.
  • Specify required Crash Dummy, Instrumentation, and High- Speed Video cameras to the support groups.  
  • Analyze test samples, log post-test reports, and present results to engineers and customers as needed. 
  • Evaluate root cause activities and provide technical expertise and troubleshooting to customers in support of programs.
  • Manage test parts in storage areas.  
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation such as accelerometers, load cells, LVDT’s, and pressure transducers.
  • Ensure that all equipment used is calibrated and the test data and video images are accurate.

 

Your profile as a Lead Test Technician-Instrumentation:

  • Associates Degree / Specialized Technical Degree or equivalent experience. 
  • 6+ years of related experience.
  • Must have good leadership and mechanical ability and be familiar with the use of hand tools and testing equipment. 
  • Must be able to read and comprehend test specifications.  
  • Must be able to quickly become familiar with the use of various computer applications.  
  • Must have good communication skills with other technicians, engineers, and supervision.  
  • Must have the ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize to ensure test completion dates are met.
