Engineer II-Systems

We’re looking for a new colleague to join our Application Systems and Safety Department at our location in Washington, MI

 

Your Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the analysis of new customer requirements sets against ZF’s ‘core’ system requirements, develop compliance statements and present ZF’s compliance to the customer. Our customers are globally distributed so you should be willing to travel within the US and abroad for up to two weeks duration, perhaps twice a year.
  • Lead the development of ZF’s core system architecture to meet emerging system requirements, or tailor the core for a customer-specific program, flowing-down requirements to sub-system design teams.
  • Challenge electronic, motor, sensor and software sub-system design teams to meet your requirements and overcome their constraints.
  • Drive the integration and test of prototype EPS systems, investigating performance and reliability issues from a requirements perspective.
  • Shape systems engineering practice within ZF – with model-based design and multi-level HIL test capability, we are aiming to define the state-of-the-art.

 

Your Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Master’s degree or better preferred.
  • Four or more years in engineering.
  • Track record developing requirements for mechatronic systems.
  • Experience using requirements management tools (eg DOORS).
  • Knowledge of modeling languages (UML or SysML) and related modeling tools (eg IBM Rhapsody).
  • Experience of data logging, dynamic modeling and statistical analysis and associated tools (eg CANape, Matlab/Simulink, Minitab).
  • Experience applying design standards (eg ISO26262) and tools (DFMEA, FTA etc) for safety critical systems.
