Principal Commodity Buyer

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and implementation of the global part family strategy for the assigned commodity, which includes deep analysis of the supply base capabilities, footprint and technology required to support the specific part family needs.
• Supplier lead contact, coordination of the commodity topics for the assigned suppliers, including accountability for Business Plan fulfillment, capacity planning, contractual status, financial health monitoring, etc.
• Perform and lead sourcing for new and carry over projects according to the ZF Sourcing Decision Process (bid list alignment, RFQ, cost analysis, sourcing recommendations…)
• Maintain frequent cross functional communication (Quality, Supplier Development, Engineering, Cost Engineering, Operations) to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and future business leverage.
• Work with Purchasing systems to ensure the right data maintenance (contracts, purchase orders, sourcing pipeline, savings/inflation…)

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Industrial Engineering or related areas.
• 8 years of experience in Automotive purchasing
• Good experience and knowledge in SAP and MS Office.
• Assertiveness and strong communication skills in handling and negotiation with the suppliers as well as interpersonal and cross-cultural expertise.
• Demonstrated performance in working cross-functionally and/or within a matrixed organization and working independently to obtain results.
• Flexible, team player, results oriented, organized, systematic, efficient, problem solver.
• Good analytical and communication skills, multitasking, sense of ownership, strategic thinking, negotiation excellence.
