Product Stewardship Expert is the team member of Product Compliance team responsible to ensure that products sold in the aftermarket comply with international and national product-related chemical laws, standards, import regulations and customer-specific requirements regarding ingredients (in cooperation with Product Compliance Team, Product Packaging and Labelling, Product Engineering and Purchasing).

 

Your tasks:

  • Provide leadership, governance and support for ZF Product Stewardship Management governance and reporting processes within the Division and with affected functions;
  • Support Division Sustainability & Climate Ambition R&D Team, as needed, including provision of the bill of material (BOM) International Material Data System (IMDS) material and weight data as input for product carbon footprint (PCF) calculations;
  • Responsible for product material-substance data governance, reporting standardization and coordination within Division;
  • Responsible to assess impact of new product material-substance regulations to divisional products; communicate results and necessary actions to key stakeholders;
  • Responsible to communicate impact of new regulations on products with divisional Program Management, Product Development/Engineering, Quality, etc. and to support responsible functions to develop substance phase-out plans (new + carry-over parts);
  • Project management and Task Forrce for Divisional chemical substances;
  • Provide/ support training implementation within the Division to ensure knowledge and information on ZF Group & Divisional Product Stewardship compliance & reporting processes/ standards is transferred to relevant functions such as Product Development/ Engineering, Program Management, Quality, etc.;
  • Advise the divisional organization, as needed, on impact of substances placed on the REACH Candidate List, REACH Annex XIV (Authorization) List, and REACH Annex XVII (Restriction) List by identifying products, components and/or suppliers affected;
  • Support any registration or authorization activity for substances used in materials in the engineering and production of the product;
  • Ensure product material-substance data is reported to the customer, as required and on behalf of the Division, via the International Material Data System (IMDS), China Automotive Material Data System (CAMDS), or other reporting system(s).

 

Our requirements: 

  • Higher education (university of applied sciences, bachelor or master's studies) – preferable in Chemical Engineering or similar
  • At least 5-6 years of Experience in dealing with environmental legislation such as REACH, ELV and hazardous substance release, IMDS and SCIP;
  • Knowledge and operational experience on IMDS, SAP, Substances relevant software Tool and systems, Regulation Data Base
  • Experience in the automotive industry preferred
  • English language skills : international teams, mandatory on business communication level.
