Wind Field Service Manager

Position Summary: Manage Field Service

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Product support and training to internal and external customers for all ZF Wind Power products to include legacy Hansen models, including OEMs, service centers, fleet customers, ZF Wind Power factories, and the wind energy shop. as well as Non-ZF Wind Products
  • Supervise the performance and quality of the Wind Energy Field Service Team to include an audit of each field technician on a quarterly basis. Schedule all North American wind field service work both warranty and post warranty with the customer (Owner / OEM) to include utilizing the departments authorized service providers. Develop, implement and follow-up on respective product campaign/improvement programs.
  • Maintain ISN with Safety and update as required, monthly, quarterly or yearly. Review warranty claims and determine warranty/not warranty. Provide technical support to the wind repair shop to include testing, training, work instruction development, and quality control.
  • Attend regular calls and meeting with customers to address/resolve issues at hand. Visit to each wind customer annually to create closer customer interaction.
  • Audit, train, and bi-annually review the performance of the authorized service providers specific to the wind energy business unit.
  • Service information, creation and distribution to include developing new field service repair solutions to expand our sales offering.
  • Perform related tasks as required.

 

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent
  • Blue print reading, computer skills, good customer relations and negotiation skills. 
  • Must be able to troubleshoot/problem solve. 
  • Must be able to climb 300 feet with 35 lbs of gear on them and work in confined spaces

 

Preferred Skills and experience:

  • 3+ years Wind Experience
  • 5+ years technical drive line experience.   

 

Reporting to Position:

  • Reports to Regional Sales and Service Manager
  • Has Direct Reports

Physical demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to climb 300 feet carrying 35lbs of tools in wind towers and work in confined spaces for extended periods of time. Handle or feel objects and/or tools; operate power tools; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop; bend, verbally communicate; and hear safety indicators. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
Work Environment:  While performing the duties of the job, the associate is exposed to heights, outdoor elements, remanufacturing floor atmosphere with and office exposure.
