Account Manager I

  1. POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Experienced-level sales professional responsible for managing the sales promotional activities for assigned account(s) or region(s). Leads internal and external activities related to the management of account(s) or region(s). Typically, responsible for non-key account(s) or region(s) of moderate size. Develops sales strategies, identifies new opportunities, and serves as liaison between sales and other departments with respect to product improvement needs, new products, and new markets. Typically reports directly to the Sales Manager and works to establish sales forecasts, evaluate competition, develop pricing strategy, and evaluate market share/growth. Calls on accounts and stays abreast of potential new business. Helps to define and communicate customer requirements. May routinely visit customer sites and may guide, instruct and train lower level sales associates or representatives.

 

 

  1. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in OEM, Service, Aftermarket, WD or Specialty preferably in Braking
  • Experience or strong understanding in Automotive Aftermarket/OES channels
  • Proven organizational abilities to successfully interact, develop, maintain, and follow through on responsibilities
  • Demonstrate strong product and technical knowledge
  • Proficiency in SAP, Sharepoint and Microsoft Office Applications including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to project and manage multiple programs
  • Knowledge of FMSI, read basic drawings, design attributes of brake pads
  • Knowledge of distribution channels: Retail, IAM and OES
  • Preferred SAE Member

 

  1. DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Serve as the primary contact in assigned sales channels where interactions require knowledge in Engineering, Pricing, Purchasing, Material Planning, Marketing, and Warranty in relation to Brake Friction.
  • Develop, maintain, manage planning of customer deliverables: Quotations, Inquiries, market research, analysis, writing, document review, or projects.
  • Closely monitors his/her assignments and ensures successful and timely completion of project tasks and responsibilities.
  • Determine relative strengths and weaknesses of our competitors and communicate to regional teams.
  • Represent/Manage company in industry and/or customer conventions.
  • Lead efforts within the customer organizations to gather sales data in a format that will measure the effectiveness of the sales organization.
  • Gather and analyze competitive information to assess our relative position for subsequent action.
  • Design and create programs and sales promotions tailored to the unique strengths of the company and customers.
  • Consult customers in developing aftermarket strategies, leads by innovation.
