We are looking for a new colleague for our subsidiary “2getthere B.V.” at our location in Utrecht (Netherlands).

2getthere has ample experience in delivering autonomous transit systems. Recently, 2getthere has started a new development towards cooperative functionality of their autonomous vehicles based on wireless communications between vehicles and with intelligent infrastructure. To enforce the existing R&D team working in this innovative area, we have a job opening for a software engineer interested in contributing to the design and real-time implementation of vehicle control systems for cooperative automated driving.
As a R&D software engineer, you will be part of an enthusiastic team that closely works together with other teams in the company to seamlessly integrate cooperative functionality in 2gethere’s systems. In particular, you will focus on the design and real-time implementation of control systems that utilize wireless communications with the roadside and with other vehicles.


Your tasks as Software Engineer – Autonomous Driving (m/f/d):

  • Design and simulation of decision making and control algorithms for cooperative automated driving, utilizing wireless communication between vehicles and infrastructure
  • Specification and implementation of the wireless communication (according to the ITS G5 standard), in cooperation with the equipment manufacturer
  • Specification and implementation of interfaces with the existing vehicle control and fleet con-trol systems
  • Implementation of the developed control system in real time, using rapid control prototyping software and hardware (MATLAB/Simulink)
  • Specification and execution of practical tests, together with the Verification & Validation team
  • Documentation of the design to support the company’s system assurance process


Your profile as Software Engineer – Autonomous Driving (m/f/d):

  • Studies in electrical engineer, mechanical engineering, robotics, computer engineering, computer science, or similar, with a focus on real-time control 
  • Multiple years of experience with software engineering (e.g., C++, ROS), rapid control prototyping software (MATLAB/Simulink) and hardware (e.g., dSpace)
  • Experience with wireless communication protocols (particularly ITS G5 and ASN.1 message set definition) is preferred 
  • Capable of balancing R&D objectives, commercial targets, and time constraints
  • Good English communication skills, both orally and in writing
  • Proactive, organized, accurate, punctual, energetic and enthusiastic personality with an open mind
