Quality Technician

LISTING OF JOB FUNCTIONS:                                                                                                                                                  

1. Investigates plant and customer rejects for root cause and corrective action.  Investigation may include disassembly of axle modules to the component level.
2. Investigates assembly/part failures to determine if the failure is due to assembly, supplier or customer induced.  Suggests corrective action measures.
3. Performs failure analysis investigations for internal and customer related issues and reports results to Manufacturing Quality Department.
4. Performs daily residual torque verifications for Front and Rear Axle assemblies.
5. Make scrap/reuse decisions of torn down assemblies.
6. Enter daily scrap into the scrap data base.
7. Responsible for performing assembly equipment and tooling calibration.
8. Must be able to work in Microsoft Office to include Word and Excel
9. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:  (Experience / Education / Skills / Training - Please be specific)                                                                                                                             

1. Must meet minimum qualifications for Quality Technician as outlined in current labor agreement
2. Demonstrate ability to use and read close tolerance instruments.
3. Proficient in use of problem solving tools such as, 5-Why and 8D
4. Prefer 2 years of quality systems experience in high volume, JIT, Lean manufacturing environment
