About the Team
The Packaging Engineering team plays a critical role within the Manufacturing and Logistics organization, ensuring that all products are safely and efficiently transported from production to customers. The team collaborates closely with cross‑functional areas such as Quality, Logistics, Purchasing, and external suppliers to develop innovative packaging solutions. With a strong focus on cost efficiency, sustainability, and compliance, the team supports both new product launches and ongoing production. Continuous improvement and adherence to global standards are at the core of daily operations.
What you can look forward to as Packaging Engineer:
- Design and develop returnable and expendable packaging solutions for new launches and serial production.
- Coordinate packaging testing and validation to ensure product protection during storage, handling, and transportation.
- Analyze and optimize packaging, transportation, and storage costs.
- Develop technical specifications, drawings, and engineering documentation for packaging solutions.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, Purchasing, and customers to implement improvements.
- Lead cost reduction and sustainability projects related to packaging materials and processes.
- Conduct container utilization and capacity studies to maximize logistics efficiency.
- Coordinate suppliers and support audits related to packaging processes and compliance.
- Simulation and calculation of packaging fleets, for production process and finished products.
Your Profile as Packaging Engineer:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Logistics, Manufacturing, or related Engineering field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in packaging engineering within automotive or manufacturing industries.
- Experience with returnable and expendable packaging development and supplier coordination.
- Strong knowledge of packaging design, materials, and supply chain processes.
- Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, and new product launch methodologies.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Advanced English skills (written and spoken) with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
