Operational Commodity Buyer for IT Purchasing

- Manage various spends under IT commodity like Infra, Hardware, Software, IT consulting services, Cloud, SAAS, Digitalization Tools and Services.
- Define the spend under right commodity classification to track and manage the same.
- Define statement of work (SOW) covering performance measures- KPIs/ metrics, SLAs, acceptance criteria, commercials, risk/reward provisions etc. to conduct the RFP’s.
- Work with internal business stakeholders and partner with them to comply with end-to-end procurement process, policies, templates, RASIC, deal risks, and possible risk mitigation steps as part of sourcing process and or contracting.
- Articulate and apply various commercial & engagement model options like managed capacity, managed outcome, managed services, gain-share etc. for all spends.
- Enable Procure-to-Contract compliance with all applicable sourcing processes, policies.
- Independently execute processes for Supplier negotiations, Vendor Selection, Contract execution.
- Define and implement plans in line with global commodity strategy, decision trees, play book etc.
- Consolidate supplier base; bring in alternative sources to ensure uninterrupted supply of services and delivered at optimal costs, within the expected timelines and with specified quality terms.
- Conduct periodic market research incl. monitoring of market trends and supply/demand factors to help in the decision-making process.
- Establish periodic communication with key stakeholders to ensure agreement and adoption of commodity strategies, review of activities undertaken and maintenance of strong customer service.
- Lead proactive review of Contracts for Renewal / re-source or amend per internal strategy.
- Periodic MIS reporting of projects, contracts and associated spend and financial analytics.
- Qualification:
- 10 years of experience in strategic sourcing of IT spend.
- Experience of procurement/ sourcing and contracting for Cloud Services.
- Understanding of how to analyze a category cost structure
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Experience or good understanding of electronic procurement/ sourcing tools.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end Source/ Procure-to-Pay processes and tools.
- Experience working within a very strong compliance and regulatory culture, driving policies and procedures, both internally and externally.
- Strong risk and control culture and an understanding of Supplier Screening programs with the ability to evaluate and mitigate any associated potential business risk.
- Strong presentation skills, including experience using Excel pivot tables, Power BI and PowerPoint to support analytical techniques and presentation of data.
- Ability to extract detailed procurement requirements from internal business stakeholders, and to translate business requirements into contract terms.
- Ability to proactively identify material, unmitigated business or contract risks on a particular deal, to articulate effectively to stakeholders, and to find appropriate solutions.

- Skilled in building relationships; confident, firm, empowering and positive attitude towards people and of personal stature and reputation to ensure ready acceptance within the company and to create a favorable representation.

- Proactive, hands-on approach and strong organizational skills with capability to manage and the ability to juggle multiple priorities and types of work.
- Excellent English communication skills (verbal & written, incl. contracting) required
- Engineering Graduate with MBA preferred.
