General Account Manager

Our California team is growing and looking for a Sales Account manager who will be responsible for driving profitable business growth within a diverse, fast paced environment of New Automotive Customers.

 

This role requires commercial savvy and business acumen. The Sales Manager is responsible for both the support of existing business, as well as the development of future business potential. Close collaboration with technical and commercial teams within the Divisions will be a key factor for success to manage the selection process of new customers, competition in our business sectors, constraints of resources. The position requires financial aptitude and a comfort level working with highly technical products.

Position Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop relationships with customer base for exciting and new business opportunities
  • Lead and live an actionable New Automotive Customer Strategy for your product portfolio to identify strategic business opportunities and must win targets to grow business profitable.
  • Build robust customer relationships in cooperation with the Divisions with reliable customer insight for Tesla and other NACs.
  • Responsible for acquisition of business in conjunction with respective product lines according to ZF strategic & operational planning.
  • Lead negotiations on contracts and pricing.
  • Serve as a manager liaison when collaborating and interfacing with internal and external teams and customers to drive global initiatives and business growth.
  • Be responsible for customer satisfaction and relationship, whether it relates to issues of cost, delivery or quality.
  • Identify trends and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status; proactively position ZF to support those needs. 
  • Achieve growth, hit sales targets by successfully managing the NA sales team
  • Meeting deadlines, ability to Work Under Pressure
  • Contributes to global team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Problem Solving attitude, positive thinker who can quickly pinpoint problems.

  • Working knowledge of Windows software (Word, Excel).

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in business or related field required.  MBA preferred.
  • 8-10 years equivalent and similar experience in a multi-national company required. 
  • Must have sales experience.
  • Prior experience working in a matrix organization.
