Sr. Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities:

  1. To coordinate Manufacturing Engineering department activities which consist of defining the manufacturing processes including procuring equipment, tools, spare parts, fixtures, and other needed manufacturing resources.
  2. To procure equipment and tools which meet our corporate and customer Quality requirements.
  3. Create operator documentations study and define cycle times and production targets.
  4. Provide training (Product and Process) to related persons (Production staff and Maintenance technicians.
  5. Plan & enhance mistake proofs, line balancing and material handling for the existing and new projects.
  6. Help coordinating customer concerns with other departments. Responsible for timely response to customer.
  7. Responsible for planning and implementing new projects referring to GDPIM (Global Development Program Introductory Management) and customer directed systems (APQP).
  8. Lead and coordinate VA/VE and cost reduction activities.
  9. Do efficiency and cost analysis studies on processes and materials where required.
  10. To participate and promote cost reduction, continuous improvement activities, Health and Safety awareness, and adherence to IATF 16949:2016 System.
  11. To perform any other duties directed by the Manager. 
  12. Quality awareness as well as apply IATF 16949:2016 to the area of work.
  13. Maintain 5S activities.
  14. Customer representative for special characteristic, CAR/PAR, capacity analysis, logistics             information, customer score card and customer portals.
  15. To apply Six Sigma methodology for key improvement projects and complicated problem solving.

  • Follow applicable HS&E rules or procedures, using the appropriate control measures as specified.
  • Report any hazards or unsafe practices.
  • Report all incidents, however minor.
  • Identify opportunities for eliminating or reducing waste and optimizing of energy use and eliminating or minimizing HS&E risks.
  • Act promptly and appropriately in cases of emergency.

Authorities:

 

  1. To stop any activity, which may endanger someone’s safety, cause an environmental accident, or produce defective product.
  2. Stop production line if there are any problems which affect to quality.
  3. To reject or accept materials and develop any necessary documentation to maintain control of the defective (non-conforming material).
  4. To stop shipment and stop production to correct quality problems.

 

                                               

General Provision:

 

  1. To ensure that the Quality & HSEM systems in accordance with IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 14001 standards respectively are adhered to and always implemented.
  2. This document covers the main responsibilities for this position, however there should be a recognition that as the needs of the business change there may be a requirement to take on additional roles outside of those listed above.  If those roles are determined to be more than a short-term issue, then this job description will be amended accordingly.
  3. All employees are required to perform/conduct all business functions/transactions.  in- line with ZF’s Legal and Ethical Compliance Policy.

 

 

Qualification:

  1. Degree in Mechanical / Production Engineering or its equivalent.
  2. Minimum 8 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferably in automotive component machining and/or assembly process quality control.
  3. Experience in chassis and braking systems is preferred.
  4. Knowledgeable in quality standards (IATF 16949:2016 & ISO14001).
  5. Minimum 5 years working knowledge and experience in advanced quality planning activities and using various quality tools i.e., APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Problem Analysis tools, etc.
  6. Experience in designing fixtures using ACAD, CATIA or similar.
  7. Must have strong problem-solving skills, analytical skills and decision-making skills and report writing skills.
  8. Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player, with strong written and oral communication skills.
  9. Computer knowledge/Skills.
