ECU Systems Engineer

We are looking for a new colleague in the Braking Electronic Controls department at our location in Southfield, MI. 

 

Your Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop ECU requirements including but not limited to establishing and documenting ECU architecture, electrical-mechanical interface documents, electronic hardware-software interface control documents, SW-SW interface documents, and performing allocation of ECU system requirements to electronic hardware, software, and mechanical components for multiple projects.
  • Working with customers (both internal and external) to translate customer requirements to ECU sub-system requirements
  • Develop ECU functional safety requirements based on technical safety concept / requirements for ECU sub-system for electronic hardware and software.
  • Includes performing analyses (FMEDA, FTA) necessary to establish ECU safety concept
  • Support development of ECU architectures with focus on functional safety goals and requirements.
  • Manage and document ECU safety architectures using block diagrams and state of the art tools
  • Support organizational development of sound ECU system development processes including related to functional safety built around best practices and industry standards such as ISO 26262.

 

Your Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelors in Electrical or Computer Engineering required, MS preferred.
  • Min. 3+ years of experience in electronic controller system engineering (automotive background is a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of functional safety including ISO 26262 and application to safety critical products
  • Experience with requirement capture and allocations, and traceability.
  • Use of tools such as DOORS, Excel, Ansys Medini (FMEDA, FTA), APIS IQ-RM (FMEA)
  • Experience in tools and processes to perform key analyses: FMEA, FMEDA, and FTA.
