Industrial Placement Student - Steering Systems (m/f/d)

We are reinforcing our our EPS Advanced Product Development Team by offering a 12 Month Student Placement at Shirley (Solihull), Birmingham from September 2020


Your tasks:
A high calibre Electronics Engineering student is sought to spend a year with a team of experts in the design and development of Electric Power Steering (EPS) control and power electronics. As part of this team, you will develop your expertise in:

  • Electronic Hardware Architecture design: Derivation of requirements and electronic architecture safety critical automotive control systems using the latest model based system engineering techniques. 
  • Electronic Architecture and Circuit Simulation: Modelling of Electronic Architectures and Circuits to validate the proposed design against requirements.
  • Electronic Hardware-in-Loop testing: Development and testing of electronic circuits to validate the simulated design against the requirements.


Your profile: 

  • Student (m/f/d) in Electronic Engineering or related subject having successfully completed at least 2 years of their degree course before the start of the placement
  • Good understanding of electronic components with strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience with MathWorks Simulation tools and a willingness to learn new simulation and system modelling techniques
  • Flexible, self motivated and able to work with limited direct supervision
  • An interest and experience in Automotive electronics/systems design
