We are looking for a new colleague in our department Functional Safety Steering Systems at our location in Shirley (The Hub). ZF Hub UK – a brand new state-of-the-art, fit for the future facility supporting technology innovation for Next Generation Mobility, across four technology domains: Vehicle Motion Control, Integrated Safety, Automated Driving and Electric Mobility.

Your tasks:

As Senior Safety Engineer (m/f/d) you are responsible for the analysis of EPS system safety at all levels through a series of formal safety analyses (including hazard analysis, Hazard Testing, FMEA and FTA)
Provide technical leadership for Safety Standards and Safety Analyses, including checking and approving analyses performed by others
Liaise with the customer to set safety acceptance standards, to develop customer-specific safety analyses and to ensure that the customer’s safety expectations are met
Develop a reliability analysis, and advise on the best use of statistical techniques and to provide reliability estimates to form part of a commercial case to the EPS business and its customers
Ensure that the supply-base is fully aware of the safety-related requirements and responsibilities

Your profile:

Successfully completed Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related subject
As Senior Safety Engineer (m/f) you will hold experience in Safety Engineering with a working knowledge of IEC 61508 and an awareness of ISO26262 and other Legislative Safety Requirements
Experience of safety analyses of electro-mechanical safety-related products, including participation and organization of hazard analysis, failure mode effect analysis and fault tree analysis
Knowledge of statistical methods used for reliability analysis and design of validation test regimes
Fluent English language skills (verbal and written) and a meticulous attention to detail, German language skills would be a benefit
