Principal Product Engineer (m/f/d)

We are looking for a new colleague in our Research and Development Team at our site in Solihull/Shirley.


Your Tasks as Principal Product Engineer (m/f/d):


  • Acts as the lead architect for the development of Procesor-in-the-Loop (PiL) based test solutions for steering (and possibly braking) systems
  • Assures that the test solutions are suitable to cover the tests for Base SW against the SW requirement specification and the Fail Safe Manual
  • Ensures, in close cooperation with BSW development and GEE, that all aspects of Hardware, Software and Modelling are adequately considered in the test solution
  • Leading role in the PiL tooling team with respect to the full lifecycle of the development of new test solutions, from the planning phase up to the deployment in our projects
  • Develops the test solution architecture further to improve aspects like useability, efficiency, and cost effectiveness


Your Profile as Principal Product Engineer (m/f/d):


  • University degree or polytechnic degree in electronics, mechanics, mechatronics or equivalent, with at least 8 years of professional experience in software, electronics or simulation in the automotive branch, ideally as a SW or HW architect or a comparable role.
  • A solid technical understanding and analytical skills enable you to take the right architectural decisions
  • Good communication skills are necessary in a challenging environment with multiple interfaces and stakeholders
  • Strategical thinking is necessary for the long-term development of the test solution architecture
  • In a multi-national team that is spread over 4 different sites in 4 countries, teamwork and intercultural sensitivity are mandatory.
