Industrial Placement Student - Steering Electronics (m/f/d)

We are reinforcing our EPS Column Drive Electronics Team by offering a 12 Month Student Placement at Shirley (Solihull), Birmingham from September 2020

 

Your Tasks:

  • We are seeking a high calibre Electronics Engineering student to spend a year with a team of electronics experts in the design and development of Electric Power Steering (EPS) applications. As part of this team, you will develop your understanding in the following areas
  • Electronic Circuit Design: Development of new electronic circuit designs, covering a wide range of digital, analogue and power technologies for safety critical automotive control systems.
  • Electronic Circuit Analysis: Tolerancing and Worst Case using various simulation and mathematical tools
  • Safety and Reliability: Delivering ISO 26262 work packages to support FMEA, FTA and reliability analyses
  • Requirements, Design and Test Documentation: Generation of traceable reports and documents aligning with ZF procedures and engineering design and development activities. 


Your Profile:

  • Bachelors Degree student in Electronic Engineering or related subject, having successfully completed at least 2 years of their degree course before the start of the placement
  • Good understanding of electronic components with strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Willingness to push existing boundaries and learn/develop new skills
  • Flexible, self motivated and able to work with limited direct supervision
  • An interest or experience in Automotive electronics/systems design
