Technical Account Manager

Main responsibilities

1, Building-up and maintaining customer engineering relationship with relevant (pre-) development contacts for all projects and products

2, Responsible for identifying/anticipating current and future technical product and system demands and requirements of customer, especially for cross-BU vehicle systems and drives customer individual engineering strategies

3, Responsible for advocating respective technical customer demand into ZF-internal product management/strategy processes – driver for early development of innovation and technology and product planning

4, Being instrumental in managing and aligning customer expectation related to ZF's technical capabilities and limitations together with the BUs (mainly Engineering), across all Divisions relevant for customer

5, Initiating/leading/guiding technical pre-acquisitions in close collaboration with BUs and sales teams

6, Co-responsibility for establishment of regular customer communication across top management levels for the vehicle domains Powertrain, Chassis, Interior/Safety and Electronics; also coverage of Digital Solutions if no dedicated Digital Ambassador in place for customer account

7, Support benchmarking activities (market needs, competitive benchmarks) and collaborate with key ZF departments

8, Organize and/or support customer technical events (e.g. Tech Day, Vision Zero Days)

 

Required skills and experience

1, Deep understanding of automotive business, technical trends, innovation, etc.

2, Ability to drive innovative topics forward and to develop technical solutions in close collaboration and alignment with Divisions/Bus

3, Strong negotiation and communication skills internally & externally

4, Strong technical background and analytical skills

5, Strategic thinking and long-term business construction

6, Team player skills internally & externally

7, 5+ years’ experience in automotive industry
