System Engineer

This position is part of ZF’s ADAS & HPC business, which is entering an exciting new phase of growth and transformation within the advanced automotive technology space. The business unit is planned for divestiture, creating a unique opportunity to help shape the future of next-generation driver assistance and high-performance computing technologies.

What you can look forward to as System Engineer:

• Define and manage product functional requirements and technical specifications for advanced ADAS/AD systems, ensuring requirements are clear, complete, feasible, and traceable throughout the development lifecycle.
• Analyze and decompose stakeholder requirements for automated driving and intelligent parking functions, including APA, RPA, and Memory Parking, and establish system requirements and models to support robust solution design.
• Drive system-level Functional Safety and SOTIF analyses, define verification strategies, and ensure high-quality system design through reviews, traceability management, and issue resolution.
• Lead the system architecture design for next-generation ADAS/AD domain controllers, including SoC selection, system bandwidth assessment, architecture definition, technical risk evaluation, and system design documentation.
• Define, monitor, and optimize key system KPIs, including latency, response time, power consumption, thermal performance, and cost, while leading trade-off decisions across performance, efficiency, and feasibility.
  Serve as the key technical interface for customers, chip suppliers, internal R&D teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to align system solutions, resolve critical product issues, and drive project execution.

Your Profile as System Engineer：

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Automation, or a related technical discipline.
• Solid experience in systems engineering, requirement management, system architecture design, and SysML/UML modeling, preferably in automotive electronics, ADAS, or automated driving programs.
• Strong understanding of ADAS/AD domain controller architectures, SoC platforms, heterogeneous computing, memory subsystems, high-speed interconnects, and system-level bandwidth, power, and thermal considerations.
• Good knowledge of automated parking functions, ODD definition, Functional Safety, ISO 26262, and SOTIF practices.
• Hands-on experience in system-level verification, issue diagnostics, data analysis, KPI definition, and optimization across performance, power consumption, response time, and cost.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly and drive alignment across internal and external teams.
• Strong analytical mindset, structured problem-solving capability, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional, and international environment.
