About the Team

This position is part of the ZF ADAS & HPC business unit known internally as "Capri." This business unit is planned for divestiture to Harman International, a Samsung company and global innovator in automotive technology, presenting a unique opportunity to be part of an exciting new chapter in the ADAS space.

What you can look forward to as Supplier Development Engineer-Semiconductor:

• Drive Semiconductor Localization in China, lead the qualification and development of local semiconductor suppliers to support the company’s strategic localization roadmap and reduce reliance on overseas supply sources.
• Support New Product Introduction, collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure robust readiness for new product launches, from prototype to mass production.
• Supplier Assessment & Technical Capability Evaluation, conduct comprehensive audits of supplier manufacturing processes, reliability capabilities, and quality systems to ensure alignment with global automotive standards and AEC Q requirements.
• Lead Supplier Qualification & Approval, manage end to end supplier qualification activities, including process audits, reliability assessments, sample builds, and documentation reviews (PPAP, APQP, AEC Q reports)

• Ensure Product Quality & Compliance, oversee product and process validation to ensure compliance with AEC Q100/101/102/200 and customer-specific requirements; identify risks and implement preventive actions.

  Supplier Quality Performance Management, monitor supplier KPIs, drive corrective and preventive actions (8D), and ensure timely resolution of quality issues, escapes, and reliability failures.

  This position will require frequent travel to assigned supplier locations (locally and global) for pre-sourcing evaluations, APQP-PPAP assessments / problem resolution and lead crisis management situations.

Your Profile as Supplier Development Engineer-Semiconductor:

• 5+ years experience in automotive semiconductors, reliability engineering, supplier quality engineering, or similar technical roles. Experience working with Tier 1 automotive customers is a plus. Familiarity with Zero Defect culture and automotive customer expectations.
• Strong familiarity with automotive industry standards, including: AEC Q100 (Qualification for Integrated Circuits), AEC Q101 (Qualification for Discrete Semiconductors), AEC Q102 (Optoelectronic Devices), AEC Q104 (Multichip Modules)
• Understanding of PPAP, APQP, IATF 16949 quality system requirements.
• Solid knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes, such as: Wafer fabrication, Assembly & packaging, Test processes, Reliability testing.
• Proficient in automotive quality and reliability tools, including: 8D methodology, FMEA (DFMEA / PFMEA), SPC (Statistical Process Control), MSA (Measurement System Analysis), DOE (Design of Experiments), Root Cause Analysis tools (5Why, Fishbone, Ishikawa), Control Plan development.
• Experience with qualification reports, reliability assessments, and failure analysis.
