Senior Diagnostics Engineer

About the Team

We are Division Commercial Vehicle Solutions, we are currently expanding our OE Digital team in China and looking for new colleagues to join us in Shanghai.

What you can look forward to as a Senior Diagnostics Engineer:

• Provide deep diagnostics expertise and hands-on support to guide product strategy and development, ensuring technical excellence and relevance
• Lead diagnostics-related technical initiatives in close alignment with the global diagnostics solution team, focusing on solution migration and ensuring compliance with both global and China-specific regulatory standards
• Define and lead the scope of technical activities for the China development team, ensuring alignment with local market needs and driving execution efficiency
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams—including software, hardware, and product management—to ensure seamless integration and successful delivery of diagnostics solutions
• Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement and innovation in diagnostics capabilities
• Serve as a technical advisor and mentor within the team, fostering capability development and promoting a culture of knowledge sharing

Your profile as a Senior Diagnostics Engineer:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in automotive diagnostics or vehicle systems
• Proven track record in diagnostics product development or system integration; experience in the automotive aftermarket is a plus
• Strong understanding of automotive diagnostics standards such as UDS, OBD-II, ODX, and OTX
• Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools, ECUs, and vehicle communication systems. Familiarity with cloud-based diagnostics solutions and related technologies (e.g., React for front-end development) is advantageous
• Solid knowledge of both global and China-specific regulatory requirements (e.g., UN R155, UN R156, GB 44495, GB 44496)
• Experience collaborating with Chinese OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers is preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, along with effective interpersonal skills
