Senior Compliance Counsel, Prevention

Your Tasks

  • Responsible for advising the company on China and international compliance topics
  • Analyze whether diverse business practices across the company comply with Chinese. regulations and international standards, including the FCPA and UK Bribery Act.
  • Present, explain and defend compliance obligations and processes to internal stakeholders and third parties, including customer and supplier representatives
  • Provide legal guidance and support to compliance processes including third party compliance screenings and compliance risk assessments
  • Direct and oversee outside counsel based both in the China and abroad
  • Prepare national and international legal surveys and analyses
  • Integrate global compliance standards into internal policies and process descriptions
  • Continuously monitor compliance standards and legal developments
  • Responsible for support of other compliance functions and initiatives, including trainings, with the general objective to meet legal compliance standards and mitigate liability to the ZF Group, its entities and staff, including Executive ManagementRequirements
  • Years of Experience: 7+ years’ experience in legal and/or compliance practice at a law firm and/or in-house corporate legal department
  • Degree Strongly Preferred: Juris Doctorate (Chinese Equivalent)

  • Excellent understanding of legal regulations and capability to apply legal standards to concrete conduct and business processes
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and well organized
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required
  • Able to manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure and experience managing complex projects in a demanding environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish effective working relationships with senior executives and colleagues with different educational backgrounds, including engineers, sales representatives and colleagues in the compliance or legal department
  • Ability to work effectively in an international, multi-cultural environment. 
  • Strategic thinker focused on practical client advice that can frame legal risks within a broader business context
  • Ability to lead and train team members and delegate work assignments
  • Must possess commitment to professionalism, integrity and collegiality
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Willingness to travel internationally (0 – 30 %)
  • Interest in working in an international environment
