Project Launch Manager

1OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB 岗位目的

  • Coordinates Brake Control Products including new Brake Technology – IBC in terms of industrialization and platform manufacturing costs for quote, design for manufacturing, pre-production builds and production launch through involvement of CFT
  • Mainly in charge of new program launch / product change as well as EOP management

2MAJOR RESPONSIBILIES 主要职责

  • Develops project (customer programs & industrialization) plans, schedules and budgets (Launch Cost and CapEx) by integrating functional activity plans supporting new product launches
  • Establishes program launch schedules and defines plant functional resources requirements based on satisfying customer launch schedules
  • Independently leads assignments with instructions as to general results expected. Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems & supervisory approval on proposed plans for project/industrialization readiness.
  • Manage production line industrialization to support the program launch timing & quality requirement.
  • Provides regular reports on project status and issues.
  • Lead new product launches that have new technologies from concept to production.
  • Interprets complex design changes and leads the effort to incorporate the change into manufacturing and innovative with new approaches to problems, systems, or situations.
  • Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work in part of a major project or in a total project of moderate to large scope.
  • Understands risks associated with complex science and engineering solution alternatives in addition to business related risks and further identify risk mitigation alternatives.
  • Performs work that involves common engineering practice that includes a variety of complex features. Requires minimum level supervision contact from manager
  • EBB Daily update and WAR ROOM review under Dept. manager leadership prior to SOP
  • Comply with and support the HSE programs, policies and procedures

3. KEY COMPETENCIES资格能力要求

  • A disciplined approach to project launch management at plant with a min of 5 years’ experience
  • Demonstrated team-building and managing capability
  • Previous knowledge of braking, mechanical related assembly or mechatronics technology products and manufacturing technologies preferred
  • Prior experience in customer interface at multiple levels and in multiple disciplines preferred
  • Experience with supporting PFMEA and control plans
  • Familiarity with personal computing software (i.e.  MS Word, MS Excel, Visio, MS Project, MS PowerPoint.)
  • Familiarity with automotive industry process and tools such as IATF16949, APQP/PPAP/SPC/MSA…

4. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE教育及经验要求

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering technology field or business discipline 
  • At least 5 years’ experience in automotive industry in one of manufacturing or launch
  • Understand mechanical production environment and related technologies;
  • Excellent English listening, speaking, reading, and writing level, has some financial knowledge
  • Sense of strong responsibility and result oriented
  • Experience with supporting PFMEA and Control Plans
  • Green Belt / Black Belt Six Sigma trained with practical experience is preferred
