Program Buyer

We are looking for a new colleague Program Buyer for our product line Chassis System, Division C at our location of Xuhui, Shanghai, ZFAP.

Main Objectives

• Planning, managing and controlling purchasing activities in chassis systems projects, including prototype parts ordering & tracking, coordinate with commodity buyers for series supplier nomination, achieving timing, capacity, quality and cost goals of the project.

• Secure the supply chain during series production phase by fulfilling all the purchasing tasks with assigned suppliers.

Your Tasks

• Fulfill purchasing tasks with assigned suppliers in Chassis Systems projects: 1). Coordinate with cross functions to go through sourcing process and designate the recommended suppliers. 2). Reach agreement with suppliers for NDA, Purchase Contract, RASIC, etc. 3). Coordinate with project buyer and drive purchasing related activities with suppliers to achieve safe launch of assigned suppliers 4). Overall timing management of assigned suppliers 4). Order sample parts and track delivery status for build phases 5). Conduct investigation/clarification with suppliers for capacity requirement 6). Deal with critical supplier issues during project phase.

• When assigned as project buyer, functionally lead individual buyers to support acquisition & guarantee the safe launch of Chassis Systems projects: 1). Sub-project manager and representative of purchasing team in project. 2). Actively coordinate with cross functions and drive all the purchasing tasks as mentioned. 3). Responsible for overall production material cost if required by the business model. 4). Address critical purchasing related issues with cross functional team 5). Support buyers to deal with critical supplier issues during project phase.

• Series production purchasing activities for plants in the region with assigned suppliers: 1). Act as purchasing coordinator for plant located at Vietnam or other Asian countries. 2). Create and maintain in SAP system for purchasing/ supplier/ material data. 3). Generate and update scheduling agreement with suppliers for price adjustment. 4). Conduct investigation/clarification with suppliers for capacity requirement. 5). Support plant to handle critical supplier commercial & delivery issues. 6).Support SQE to handle critical supplier quality issues.

• Engineering Changes: 1). Evaluate changes of supplier, production planning and development (e.g. costs, quality) and to coordinate the implementation. 2). Track and document the implementation of drawing and process changes.

• Prepare & lead for negotiations on contracts, volume changes, amounts, prices, productivities, delivery requirements, cost acceptance, etc.

Your Profile 

• 3~5 years Purchasing experience in automotive industry.

• University Bachelor degree or above in Engineering, Business or equivalent.

• Fluent English both in written & oral is a must, frequent communications in daily business with colleagues in Europe. German is not required, but it is a plus.

• Computer MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint, SAP operation skills as a plus.

• Proactive and strict working style.

• Solid purchasing or project management experience, engineering background is a plus.

• Solid experience to work in an international team and matrix organizations.

• Strong problem-solving skills with can-do attitude.

• Good communication and team player.
