About the Team

This position is part of the ZF ADAS & HPC business unit known internally as "Capri." This business unit is planned for divestiture to Harman International, a Samsung company and global innovator in automotive technology, presenting a unique opportunity to be part of an exciting new chapter in the ADAS space.

 

What you can look forward to as Hardware Mechanical Engineer:

  • Lead mechanical design and development of ADAS camera and one-box systems, including enclosure, mounting structure, sealing, and thermal solutions (air cooling and liquid cooling).
  • Design and optimize thermal management solutions such as heat sinks, airflow channels, cold plates, and liquid cooling loops to meet system requirements.
  • Perform thermal simulation (CFD) and validation to ensure effective heat dissipation and product reliability under automotive conditions.
  • Conduct mechanical and reliability analysis, including stress/structural simulation, vibration, shock, and thermal cycling.
  • Drive material selection and design optimization, and collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure design feasibility and mass production readiness.

 

Your Profile as Hardware Mechanical Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or related field, with experience in automotive electronics or ADAS products (Tier 1 preferred).
  • Hands-on experience in thermal design, including air cooling and liquid cooling, with familiarity in simulation tools such as Icepak, Flotherm, or Star-CCM+.
  • Solid knowledge of structural and stress simulation using FEA tools such as ANSYS or Abaqus.
  • Experience in material selection, including metals, plastics, and thermal interface materials, with understanding of thermal and mechanical properties.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., CATIA, UG/NX, SolidWorks) and familiarity with GD&T, tolerance analysis, and automotive validation requirements.
