We are looking for a new colleague Functional Safety Engineer for our Division C at our location of ZFCN, Songjiang District, Shanghai.
Your task:
- Position Summary: Functional Safety Engineer is responsible as role Functional Safety Manager (SaM) for the advanced development, maintenance, and fulfillment of a safety plan for assigned projects. This includes performing safety analyses, defining, and documenting safety requirements, and validation of the safety concept in the target application.
- Create a safety plan which identifies and plans all required activities, tasks, and resources for the various development phases of the project. Ensure activities are carried out according to plan and notify project management of any deviations.

Conduct comprehensive independent analyses and reviews, including in-vehicle evaluation as required, as part of the functional safety process in support of system and software development. Evaluate changes and determine required actions as applicable.

Develop the safety concept (functional and technical).

Define and document functional safety requirements for based on performed analyses. Support interpretation of requirements for internal and external teams as required. Derive and document safety requirements from new and complex problems; and ensure verification and validation.

Act as an expert functional safety consultant for project teams and provide direction as needed. Support safety discussions with internal and external teams. Support development initiatives including change analysis and implementation.

Plan and issue road and safety approvals for development and production to meet project milestones.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Your Profile:

Bachelor of Engineering (mechanical, electrical, or a related field).

English as working language, German is plus.

2-3 years of experience in automotive functional safety or hardware or software design.

Experience in using development tools, e.g. version control tools and requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS, Integrity).

Experience with safety analyses like HARA, FMEA, FTA, and similar.

Experience with ISO 26262, IEC 61508 or a similar standard, ASPICE / CMMI is plus.

Knowledge of embedded hardware and software design/architecture, and electronic products.

Ability to understand and analyze complex electromechanical and software systems. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
