This position is part of ZF’s ADAS & HPC business, which is entering an exciting new phase of growth and transformation within the advanced automotive technology space. What you can look forward to as an AEB Algorithm Engineer:
- Develop and optimize AEB/ACC longitudinal control algorithms for L2/L2+ ADAS functions.
- Develop, implement, and optimize AEB algorithms
- Design and develop AEB functional strategies based on domestic and international regulations and assessment protocols, including Euro NCAP, C-NCAP, GB standards, UNECE regulations, and customer-specific requirements.
- Build and maintain AEB algorithm models using MATLAB/Simulink, including threat assessment, target selection, collision prediction, braking decision, and intervention logic development.
- Perform algorithm calibration and parameter tuning to achieve optimal performance in terms of braking effectiveness, false braking suppression, robustness, and driver acceptance.
- Support model-based development workflows, including MIL, SIL, HIL verification and automated testing processes.
- Analyze simulation, proving ground, and vehicle test data to evaluate key performance indicators such as TTC calculation accuracy, braking timing, stopping distance, and collision avoidance performance.
- Collaborate closely with perception, system, software, testing, and vehicle integration teams to ensure seamless feature integration and issue resolution.
- Participate in algorithm validation under various traffic scenarios and environmental conditions, including vehicle-to-vehicle, vehicle-to-pedestrian, vehicle-to-cyclist, junction, crossing, and cut-in scenarios.
- Investigate customer and vehicle fleet issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve product quality and field performance.
- Support software and algorithm development activities in compliance with ASPICE, ISO 26262, and functional safety requirements throughout the product development lifecycle.
Your Profile as an AEB Algorithm:
- Master’s degree in Control Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or related fields.
- 1+ years of experience in ADAS, autonomous driving, control algorithm, or robotics development.
- Familiar with AEB, ACC, TJA, LKA, NOA, or related driving functions.
- Knowledge of PID, MPC, trajectory planning, vehicle dynamics, and control systems.
- Proficient in C++ and familiar with Python.
- Experience with Linux and MATLAB/Simulink.
- Understanding of automotive software development and functional safety concepts.
- CET-6.
