Commodity Buyer-Plastic Parts

About the Team

Commodity purchasing is part of the global Commodity Purchasing team, This position is responsible for the Functional plastic commodity. The Prime role is to develop and implement the most beneficial type of sourcing agreements for the specific commodity and to support the development of a network of best practice suppliers. This includes for example requests for quotations, negotiations, technical reviews and sourcing recommendations, in line with criteria defined by ZF and aligned with the cross-functional team. 

What you can look forward to as a Commodity Buyer:

• Responsible for commodity purchasing of plastic parts, in ZF global area
• Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Management of the related commodity parts, thus identify regional commodity sourcing opportunities and parts that can be sourced from global suppliers
• Work and cooperate within cross function team regionally and globally.
• Manage the commodity purchasing process for new products or localization of existing products through supplier search and commercial negotiations
• Supporting the development and implementation of the global part family strategy, the supplier base and technology within the given responsibility
• Execution and evaluation of requests for quotations
• Execution of supplier ratings, in regard to SAZUR / ASL
• Execution of negotiations with suppliers within the given guidelines, incl. annual cost savings target negotiations

Your Profile as a Commodity Buyer:

• 3+ years; Experience in Purchasing of parts for automotive industry
• Bachelor degree: Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Business Engineering, or similar
• Fluent in English (writing and speaking)
• Strong analytical skills
• Deep knowledge of plastic commodity, manufacturing, applications
• Know How of automotive industry
• Ability to understand complex contents/tasks/matters, "Problem solver" attitude
• Good communication and presentation skills
