Semiconductor Supplier Quality Engineer

About the Team
You will join ZF’s global Supplier Quality and Development (SQD) team, responsible for ensuring world class quality and reliability of semiconductor components across the global supply base. The team collaborates closely with sourcing, engineering, project management, and manufacturing units worldwide. With a strong focus on advanced technologies and robust supplier partnerships, the team drives continuous improvement to support ZF’s future mobility innovations.

What you can look forward to as Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (m/f/d):
•    Lead global semiconductor supplier development, including project setup, onboarding, contracting, and continuous capability enhancement—particularly for local suppliers.
•    Conduct structured risk assessments to support sourcing decisions for best in class semiconductor components used in new product development.
•    Drive full APQP execution to minimize quality and reliability risks, apply ZF qualification standards, and establish safe launch plans during production ramp up.
•    Lead structured problem solving to identify root causes of quality issues and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions throughout supplier manufacturing and testing processes.
•    Perform onsite audits, technical assessments, and process reviews at semiconductor manufacturers and subcontractor locations.
•    Drive continuous improvement initiatives with key semiconductor suppliers to enhance quality performance and KPI achievement.
•    Contribute to ZF’s internal Knowledge Management program by creating and delivering training related to your technical expertise.
•    Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure supplier readiness for next generation semiconductor technologies and roadmaps.
•    Support ZF’s change management process, including risk assessment and qualification of supplier initiated changes.

Your profile as Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (m/f/d):
•    Bachelor’s Degree or above in Engineering.
•    3–5 years of direct experience in semiconductor manufacturing, testing, quality engineering, supplier quality, or subcontractor quality management.
•    Strong knowledge of automotive and semiconductor quality standards, including IATF 16949 and AEC Q100/101.
•    Proficiency in quality tools such as FMEA, 8D, PPAP, SPC, MSA, and advanced root cause analysis methods.
•    Strong project management capability across cross functional and supplier teams.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with high proficiency in English.
•    Strong analytical, problem solving, and data interpretation abilities.
•    Demonstrated leadership experience working with globally distributed teams and external suppliers.
•    Willingness to travel 25–50% across Asia Pacific to visit ZF and supplier locations.
