Process Quality Engineer
About the Team
The Process Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring product and process quality throughout the product lifecycle by leading quality planning, problem-solving, supplier quality activities, launch readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role works closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to drive compliance with automotive quality standards, resolve quality concerns, and enhance overall product performance and customer satisfaction.
What you can look forward to as Process Quality Engineer:
- Lead and review design drawings, engineering changes, process documentation, test procedures, procurement documents, and quality records to ensure compliance with customer and company requirements.
- Support product and process development through participation in Design and Process FMEAs, APQP activities, and PPAP submissions.
- Drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives to resolve quality issues, customer complaints, warranty claims, and supplier-related concerns.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing operations by investigating product and process issues and recommending effective solutions.
- Manage supplier quality activities, including Quality Assurance Agreements (QAA), supplier problem resolution, and customer quality planning (CQP) requirements.
- Monitor pre-production and launch activities, including line readiness, control plans, prototype quality procedures, and capability studies to ensure successful product introduction.
- Analyze quality performance using statistical methods, defect trends, audits, and warranty data, and communicate results to customers and management.
- Support quality management system compliance, continuous improvement programs, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance product quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Your profile as Process Quality Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and relevant quality experience.
- Minimum 3 years of quality engineering experience, preferably within the automotive industry and a matrix organization.
- Strong knowledge of automotive quality standards and tools, including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and IATF 16949.
- Experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, Pareto Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, and statistical tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, process documentation, control plans, and manufacturing records.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, measurement and testing equipment, and quality-related data analysis tools.
