About the team

We are currently looking for the skilled Engineer who wants to have an impact with his/her work and join our ZF Aftermarket digital products team in our existing office in Plzen. The team is working to deliver our ZF Bus Connect product (https://www.zf.com/products/de/cv/campaigns/bus_connect/bus_connect.html) and is focused on extending the value of this connected vehicle solution through a deeply collaborative effort between product, UX, data and engineering members. The team is leveraging the company’s existing knowledge and access to data of multiple thousands of buses to increase efficiency and convenience in managing the uptime of such vehicles. This is a unique opportunity to have an early and significant impact on shaping both, the new engineering organization and product while having the security of being part of one of the world’s largest automotive suppliers.

Job Description

What can you look forward to as Hardware/Firmware Engineer?:

•Design and develop robust, high-quality sustainable code for ZF Bus Connect. Continuously improve in developing, maintaining & enhancing firmware
•Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies as required.
•Follow agile development methodologies & lean principles to  collaborate, deliver and report during execution.

 

Your profile as Hardware/Firmware Engineer:

•University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar
•5 years of proven experience in similar role working in software development
•Deep knowledge with technologies like C++/C on Linux platform
•Implement and test data acquisition, CAN bus communication, and telemetry protocols (e.g., Protobuf).
•Integrate with sensors and vehicle ECUs to collect real-time data.
•Follow automotive standards (e.g., ISO 26262 basics, CAN, UDS).
•Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and hardware bring-up.
•Support firmware updates, debugging and flashing tools.
•Passion for IoT technology and good, high quality code
•Experienced in working in agile environments (Scrum)
•Growth mindset combined with curiosity and solution orientation and strong drive to deliver
•Very good communication and collaboration skills
•Fluent in English, other languages are a bonus
