Cloud Solutions Architect / Lead Developer (m/f/d)

We are currently looking for skilled people who want to have an impact with their work, to join a newly formed ZF Aftermarket Product Engineering team in our existing office in Plzen. The team is working to deliver a green field extension to our existing ZF Bus Connect product and is focused on bringing this new small business platform from concept to production through a deeply collaborative effort between engineering, UX, product and data members. The team will leverage the company’s existing knowledge and access to data of multiple thousands of Buses to increase efficiency and convenience in managing the uptime of such vehicles, by connecting bus fleet operators with workshop organizations and enable remote and predictive maintenance use-cases. This is a unique opportunity to have an early and significant impact on shaping both, the new engineering organization and product while having the security of being part of one of the world’s largest automotive suppliers.
 

The Solution Architect is a master in transforming business ideas into a cloud solution architecture and is involved in all stages of development (planning, designing, maintaining, and deploying). The role will engage with the key stake holders, including business line leaders, product owners, engineering, and enterprise architects to understand the business requirements, to build the most advanced and optimal solution for ZF’s customers.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
•    Being accountable for cloud solution architecture and design during the full life cycle of the solutions with continuous improvement of architecture standards and guidelines.
•    Work closely with our Product Management team, translate upcoming ideas and requirements into technology and help product owners to define a good roadmap.
•    Design and develop scalable, future-oriented and operationally efficient architectural concepts, solutions and code.
•    Act as a lateral leader for our small new development team by working side-by-side with the team and coaching team members. Nurture a collaborative environment and foster transparency. Follow agile development methodologies & lean principles (e.g., Scrum)
•    Facilitate timely technical decisions based on expert-sparring and development of options/scenarios. Drive buy-in by clearly communicating decision-making rationale.
 

Required skills:
•    Computer Science master’s degree or equivalent with 5+ years of software development and 3+ years of architecture experience working in an agile environment. 
•    Good experience in cloud technologies, especially Microsoft Azure (such as Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure Devops, pipelines, Azure active directory, automation, Terraform, CLI, bash, Powershell)
•    Experience in consultative selling, project management, cost estimation 
•    Passion to design and develop cloud solutions as well as to communicate with people, good language skills in English.
