Product Support Technician

Provide a professional technical support service to the Automotive IAM, Partners, divisions and internal/external customers. As required handle warranty claims ensuring all KPI’s are achieved. Undertake and help coordinate field service activity in-conjunction with technical sales team when required. Deliver high quality technical training at technician and distributor level. The role holder is also required to identify and exploit commercial opportunities in-conjunction with all other functions within ZF Services UK.

 

Your tasks:

  • Handle technical enquiries received for all products and related mechanical / electrical systems to ensure full customer satisfaction
  • Adjudication of warranty claims to meet with company expectations in relation to UK warranty
  • Working with the training manager, develop and undertake partner, internal and external customer training as required to meet customers’ expectations. Write the appropriate risk assessments for all new trainings and associated activities. Also to be capable and accredited to deliver trainings to IMI level 4 or higher
  • Offer field support as required to customers, including diagnostic work as required to technical services KPI’s
  • Support  external visits and exhibitions as required

 

 

Your profile:

  • Thorough understanding of electrical and mechanical principles and concepts working at Master Technician level, with a Motor Vehicle Engineer Engineering qualification, Level 1 to 3 City & Guilds
  • Educated to HND or Degree (BSc) level in a relevant field or be willing to undertake this level of education
  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical principles and concepts and experience of vehicle High Voltage / Hybrid systems. Trained to IMI level 3 or 4 as well as demonstrated experience of repair and diagnosis of HVE systems
  • Confident use of information technology, ie. SAP, databases, spreadsheets, word processing, Internet etc.
  • Excellent communication with a diplomatic approach to dealing with customers and presentation skills
  • Able to administer, organise and prioritise workload, self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
