Test Engineer - Function & Safety

We are seeking a new colleague in our Research & Development department in Northville, MI!


Responsibilities

  • System Testing Engineer for Mechatronic Systems is providing system measurements, testing and analysis on the test bench and acting as an interface to the internal customer and development teams. 
  • Coordination and implementation of the function and safety tests (negative tests through fault injection) of mechatronic chassis systems on function test benches.
  • Creation and adaptation of testing scripts in using Vector Tool Chain (i.e. CANoe).
  • Analysis, documentation and approval of test results.
  • Participation in error analysis on functions and components.
  • Participation in the automation of test and evaluation routines with FAMOS.
  • Working together in an international company with a lot of collaboration between people in different countries and different nationalities
  • Compliance with all internal and external Production Quality Management Systems and Group Directives.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and 3+ years working experience in development testing.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without  sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Experience in testing control units or mechatronic vehicle systems, signal processing and evaluation as well as knowledge of object-oriented programming are required.
  • Problem Solving & Analytical Methods: Red-X, DFSS, DFMEA and PFMEA
  • Able to take responsibility for own work and apply own initiative to finding solutions
  • Independent and analytical way of working as well as high team and communication skills.
  • Experience in dealing with DOORs, Integrity, FAMOS and Vector tools is desirable.
  • German language skill is a plus
