Sales Manager - E-mobility

Position Summary: The Sales Manager is responsible for leading all EVD acquisition projects within region North America from Pre-RFI phase through acquisition win. The incumbent will be responsible for leading, directing, and monitoring the sales promotional activities and managing overall internal and external activities for the region.  

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead EVD acquisition projects (Growth Business) with strategic importance of ZF and coordinate work on RFQ packages with all relevant departments involved.
  • Act as main interface for customer during each acquisition project
  • Lead a cross functional team consisting of R&D employees, controlling, cost engineering, sales engineering, project management, purchasing, industrial engineering, system partner, quality, etc to ensure sales goals are achieved
  • Serve as a managerial liaison between other department managers.
  • Develop, align and maintain the acquisition strategy, roadmap and sales plan for EVD acquisition projects for North America customers and/or markets following the ZF planning cycle.
  • Responsible for tracking the acquisition roadmap and initiating countermeasures or escalation if necessary.
  • Developing target prices, derived from benchmark-database.
  • Establish sales forecasts, evaluate competition, develop pricing strategy, and evaluate market share/growth.
  • Regular reporting status of acquisition project in Acquisition Tracking Board including BOM (SvS), Divisional-, PL- management, and Head of Sales.
  • Drive implementation and continuous improvement activities of sales strategies, programs and business unit directives.
  • All other duties as assigned.

*Ability/willingness to travel both domestically and internationally

 

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 8-10+ years advanced experience
  • Expert-level knowledge of sales, account management, and marketing principles
  • Proven organizational and project management abilities
  • Expert-level knowledge of a discipline, such as product engineering, automotive sales, OE account management, or inside sales and customer service initiatives
  • Proven knowledge and ability in methods of communication, motivation, negotiation, and conflict management skills with a high level of initiative/drive
  • Ability to handle and manage difficult and confrontational situations with customer and other inter-company departments

  

Preferred Skills and Experience:
•    Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
•    5+ years of managing/directing others and/or managing key accounts in addition to delegating/tracking independent work assignments for sales programs
•    Knowledge of SAP
•    Spanish and/or German Language Skills
