Purchasing Process Specialist

Position Summary: The Purchasing Process Specialist is responsible for leading the development and implementation of indirect material purchasing solutions through high-level process improvements and strategic planning methods in order to support and fulfill the requirements of internal and external customers worldwide.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and launch Non-Production Materials (NPM) purchasing automatic tools in multiple local EPR systems, such as SAP. Perform as admin/key user. Continuously improve and troubleshoot the tools and systems. 
  • Coordinate, implement, and standardize the corporate NPM purchasing processes to the region. Conduct training to improve and optimize awareness of NPM process to both internal and external purchase team. 
  • Performance, monitor, and increase on automated order KPI of ZF locations in region Americas.
  • Lead projects related to the analysis and enhancement of workflow processes through the detailed development of purchasing plan.
  • Support local buyers at each US and Canadian based plants with purchasing related process and systems. 
  • Participate in business management systems projects and processes in the area of materials management NPM.
  • Prepare specialized concepts in collaboration with the responsible departments and coordinate the technical system implementation with the IT department.
  • Participate as business lead for indirect material (Service Center Procurement) in IT projects such as system migrations or release changes.
  • Consult and assist all ZF Divisions in system technical and conceptual issues in the field of materials management.
  • Standardize the process and systems amongst various plants and ERP systems. 
  • Lead continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field
  • 3-6+ years of experience in purchasing related position
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Project management skills
  • Experience with Materials Management (MM) module in ERP systems
  • Profound knowledge in area of IT-systems for purchasing 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PPT)
  • Strong competency in presentation, moderation, and social communication 
  • Proven ability to analyze and interpret data and purchasing-related processes
  • Solid organization and time/project management skills

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge about PowerBI 
  • Experience in leading purchasing related system roll-out project is a plus  
  • Experience in BPM and others integration platform skills
  • German or Spanish language skills
