Head of Test Systems, NA

About the Role

Reporting to the Global Vice President of Test Systems, and sitting out of ZF North America, in Northville, MI, the Head of Test Systems North America will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Test Systems business unit, leading the organization of ZF Test Systems North America at locations in line with the global Business Unit IT Strategy and processes. The Head of Test Systems NA focuses on outside sales/commercial management, customer relationship management, business development, customer service, engineering change management, business planning/scheduling, and inside sales.

What you can look forward to as the Head of Test Systems NA: 

• Ensuring the successful installation/commissioning of test equipment at customer locations (internal and external).  
• Developing and maintaining a local engineering and assembly team to develop and design local engineered testbeds including assembly area.  
• Promoting continuous improvement in the operations through the life-cycle of all test systems.
• Managing all sales/new business acquisitions activities for North America, including but not limited to: market strategies, sales plan, technical sales presentations, calculations and quotes, pricing negotiations, and purchase order verification processes (i.e. terms and conditions, currency, content, etc.). 
• Managing customer retention through the management and development of customer relationships, and communication through all stages of customer product management.
• Managing inquiry/quoting through installation and post-commissioning service procedures/plans and coordinates with the Headquarter of the Business unit the necessary support. 
• Discussing and assessing customer business planning/strategy with special regards to future/projected capital investment activities. 
• Overseeing escalating/discussing high-level/urgent issues with Account/Product Management departments within the business unit, in addition to the Head of the Business Unit. 
• Driving sales growth and customer portfolio growth within the region, in addition to developing market/industry penetration strategies. 
• Managing trade show and marketing activities in collaboration with the business unit Communications and Marketing departments according to the agreed local strategy as an integrated part of the global Business Unit strategy.

Your Profile as the Head of Test Systems:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 12+ years' business development experience in manufacturing
• Strong understanding of test systems
• Proven leadership experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong understanding for data evaluation and interpretation
