Head of Power Electronics Product Line NA- E-Mobility

Position Summary:  The Head of Product Line EE is responsible for the strategic planning for NA Electronics Product Line and acting as the first point of contact for all matters regarding project performance in the region.  This role is the face to the customer and will drive growth for the function by ensuring all products and projects in the portfolio meet their targets.  This role will strongly collaborate with the EE Product Line Lead, Portfolio Heads, Program and Project Managers worldwide and the ZF Sales organization.  The Head of PL EE will report directly to the Head of the Region North America and indirectly to the Global Product Line Lead EE.

 

Position Responsibilities
•    Accountable for business development for product group together with regional strategy department
•    Responsible for Profit and Loss for the portfolio
•    Align acquisition strategy and activities between functions
•    Lead and coordinate cross functional teams in the development and execution of the strategic plan and strategic measures of respective portfolio through the entire product/project life cycle (incl. smooth handover pre- to post SOP)
•    Work closely with Sales and Account Teams to achieve top-line objectives, defining commercial strategies and strengthening regional customer relationships (face-to-the-customer)
•    Define, align, execute, and optimize the product portfolio (e.g. invest in specific areas, cash out, etc)
•    Coordinate all projects within the portfolio and serve as first level of resolution 
•    Cascade and control program and project targets
•    Allocate project and product related capital investments
•    Improve product competitiveness with Purchasing and VMT by managing and tracking progress to material cost targets, including through effective supply chain strategies, regional supplier localization, forward BoM definitions, and approving supplier selections
•    Maintain a safe, clean, productive work environment for employees satisfying ZF quality standards/policy.
•    Ensure departmental compliance with all IATF16949 requirements, ZF corporate policies, and divisional directives. 
•    Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Essential Skills and Experience:
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (Masters strongly preferred)
•    15+ years advanced experience 
•    Expert-level knowledge of Sales, Account Management, and Marketing Principles
•    Proven organizational and project management abilities
•    Expert-level knowledge of a discipline, such as product engineering, automotive sales, OE account management, or inside sales and customer service initiatives
•    High level of financial and business acumen
–    Proficient in understanding and interpreting financial schedules and models (including P&L, balance sheet, and CQA business cases)
–    Able to identify operational and strategic levers across the organization to influence key financial metrics
•    Strong strategic thinker, with the ability to articulate near-term goals, define long-term aspirations,
and identify and prioritize activities to achieve these objectives
–    Able to define long-term aspirations with supporting logic and fact base
–    Able to articulate current baseline and road map to achieving long-term goals
–    Able to prioritize team's activities to ensure execution of the road map
•    Ability to lead and influence cross-functional team
–    Understands and has the credibility to steer a cross-functional team; relevant technical and/or commercial background desired
–    Able to work across a global organization and manage in a multi-cultural environment
–    A team player, with strong influencing skills needed to navigate and lead in a matrix organization 
–    Excellent verbal and written communication skills; English language proficiency
•    Ability/willingness to travel both domestically and internationally
  

Preferred Skills and experience:
•    Master’s Degree in Engineering, Business or related field
•    5+ years of managing/directing others and/or managing key accounts in addition to delegating/tracking independent work assignments for sales programs
•    Spanish and/or German Language Skills
