Engineering Supervisor-Controls

We are seeking a new colleague in to join our Controls and Calibration team in Northville, MI!

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading and supervising a team of transmission controls engineers that are responsible for coordination and execution of all  functional customer software changes for ZF electrified powertrain technology.
  • Responsible for planning, assigning and execution of team tasks, including analysis, estimation, specification, testing, and calibration of electrified powertrain software changes and issues.
  • Prioritize and assign tasks within the team according to resource availability and capability to meet overall team/project timing and deliverables. 
  • Review work output and execute tasks as necessary to support high quality and on-time deliverables.
  • Evaluate team and individual performance and provide meaningful feedback. 
  • Identify and resolve gaps in training and/or processes. 
  • Lead by example and provide coaching and mentoring to the team.
  • Support the teams interests in internal and external meetings and escalations. 
  • Utilize technical expertise to provide leadership, guidance, consultation and support on tasks and topics.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Computer/Software Engineering and 8+ years of engineering experience in a product development, testing, and/or manufacturing environment (includes co-op and/or internship experience)
  • 2+ years of engineering experience with a focus on powertrain applications
  • In-depth understanding powertrain electronic control systems development and/or software calibration/testing processes
  • In-depth understanding of data acquisition, analysis and statistical methods
  • Experience in DFMEA’s and DVP’s
  • Proficient with INCA/CANape, DOORS, ClearQuest and other development software
  • Ability to interface with key customers, cross-functional teams, and all levels of personnel/management
  • Good driving record
