Director of Sales Region NA, Division E

Position Summary: The Head of Sales will be responsible for driving profitable business growth in the region North America with a focus on electrified powertrains managing all customer accounts for the region, across all product lines. The function will lead a sales team and report directly to the Head of the Region North America.

 

Position Responsibilities:

•    Lead and live an actionable regional strategy for all customers to identify strategic business opportunities and must win targets to grow the business profitable.
•    Generate knowledge about regional market and customer trends to influence ZF strategy
•    Build robust customer relationship(s) in alignment with MK organization with reliable customer insight for respective region
•    Responsible for acquisitions of business in conjunction with respective product lines and MK teams according to ZF strategic & operational planning (winning business for DIV; define and review battle plan)
•    Coordinate CQ process with Global Commercial Management Team. 
•    Support negotiations on contracts and pricing (including yearly productivity, claims, recoveries, change management, delivery, license and development contracts)
•    Serve as the manager liaison when collaborating and interfacing with internal and external teams and customers to drive global initiatives and business growth
•    Manage and drive pre-/post SOP profitability of projects/RFQ’s 
•    Track sales, initiate countermeasures for deviations from the plan and develop a mid- and long-term sales & price development planning within the area of responsibility
•    Creation of mid- and long-term sales planning pricing strategy. Support in OP/SP-planning.
•    Lead the development of metrics and key performance indicators related to sales programs and business development initiatives including executive level reporting.
•    Drive implementation and continuous improvement activities of sales strategies, programs and business unit directives.
•    Manage Battle Planning process including Action Plans to position ZF to win profitable business prior to and throughout the CQ process 
•    All other duties as assigned.

 

Essential Skills and Experience:

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (Masters strongly preferred)
•    12+ years advanced experience 
•    Expert-level knowledge of sales, account management, and marketing principles
•    Proven organizational and project management abilities
•    Expert-level knowledge of a discipline, such as product engineering, automotive sales, OE account management, or inside sales and customer service initiatives
•    Proven knowledge and ability in methods of communication, motivation, negotiation, and conflict management skills with a high level of initiative/drive
•    Ability to handle and manage difficult and confrontational situations with customer and other inter-company departments.
•    English language competency
•    Ability/willingness to travel both domestically and internationally
  

Preferred Skills and experience:

•    Master’s Degree in Engineering, Business or related field
•    5+ years of managing/directing others and/or managing key accounts in addition to delegating/tracking independent work assignments for sales programs
•    Knowledge of SAP
•    Spanish and/or German Language Skills
