Design Engineer

ZF Northville is looking for a Design Engineer to join the Mechatronics Product Group!

 

Position Responsilbities:

  • Functional coordination of mechatronic projects in cooperation with the persons responsible for product groups (PG BJ/SP) within the PG CC.
  • Understand customer requirements and compare them with ZF specifications and draft design proposals in cooperation with requirements management.
  • Cooperaton in the creation and adaptation of requirement specifications for mechatronic products.
  • Coordination of product requirements with the customer in order to generate a common understanding. 
  • Harmonization of product requirements with internal technical departments and locations (e.g. testing, prototype manufacture, quality, production).
  • Support of VA/VE measures.
  • Further development of mechatronic products to optimize volume production processes (internally and with suppliers) with the aim of reducing costs and increasing the robustness of products and improving their function.
  • Cooperation with suppliers to adapt designs to supplier processes.
  • Development of 2D drawings and 3-D models.
  • Cooperation and coordination in functional safeguarding measures (simulation, FMEAs FEM- calculation).

 

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering 
  • 3-4 years of experience in electronics or mechatronics 
  • Basic knowledge of Hall sensors, magnet knowledge desirable 
  • Systematic, analytical, and target-oriented working method
  • Strong communication skills

* Ability and willingness to travel

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Master's Degree 
  • Experience in chassis components or chassis system development 
  • Experience in project management
